Holding Grief Gently This May

Hi friends,
This month’s message comes from a very personal place.
On May 1st, my sister passed away. Just a few days before, I was able to spend time with her, to celebrate her 67th birthday on April 28th and say goodbye. That time together is something I will always carry close to my heart.
Since then, grief has been showing up in ways I expected… and many ways I didn’t. Some days feel heavy and emotional, while others feel strangely quiet and still. What I’ve been reminded of through all of this is how deeply grief lives in the body, not just the mind.
As I’ve been moving through this experience myself, I’ve found myself leaning even more into the practices I share with others — Reiki, somatic awareness, rest, breath, gentle movement, essential oils, and simply allowing space for emotions without trying to rush through them.
There have been moments where Reiki helped me soften enough to breathe a little deeper. Moments where placing my hands over my heart brought a sense of calm. Moments where lavender or frankincense helped me feel just a little more grounded during difficult days.
I know grief can come from many places — the loss of a loved one, major life changes, illness, relationships ending, or simply carrying emotional heaviness for too long. And I also know many people try to carry it alone. I want you to know you don’t have to.
If you are walking through grief, overwhelm, stress, or emotional exhaustion right now, I would be honored to support you through Reiki and Somatic Coaching sessions. My sessions are gentle, supportive, and completely centered around meeting you where you are.
Because this feels especially close to my heart right now, I also offering a complimentary Reiki session as a gentle first step for anyone who feels called to receive support. No pressure. No expectations. Just space to breathe, soften, and be cared for. Naturally-Refreshing.com
Thank you for being part of this community and for allowing me to share something so personal with you this month.
With love,
Riki Marie
